This week, I came across a famous comment by a popular comedian of the 1900’s named Groucho Marx. He quipped,

These are my principles. And you if you don’t like them… I have others.”

Unfortunately, I’m sure we can all think of people that Groucho’s ‘joke’ may actually be true about. But more importantly, I can think of the One whom this will never be true of:

“I the Lord do not change.” Malachi 3:6

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8, KJV

Young or old, strong or weak, healthy or battling illness, full of smiles or struggling on a grief journey, God walks beside us. We praise Him in the good, and remember that He is greater than the desperate. He doesn’t expect us to ignore it, but to trust Him through it. When we hold on to our faith, God sees, and He lifts us up above the desperate to a place of protection.

“In the beginning, Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your Hands. They will perish…but You remain the same and Your years will never end.       Hebrews 1:10
