Dear Friends,

That greatest love that was poured out for us so long ago unceasingly calls us to prepare our hearts for the Lord. Bing Crosby once crooned, “the secret of Christmas [is] not the things you do at Christmas time, but the Christmas things you do all year through.” But, we are human, and we need this Advent time of great expectation and hope to refresh and prepare our minds and hearts for Christ so He may carry us through the coming year.

We have been in a different ‘advent’ season of our own starting a little over two years ago, when we completed, Through It All, a personal story of the Lord’s faithful work of deliverance through life and death. As we worked hard to secure a pathway to publication, we were ever mindful of the wisdom of Proverbs 3:5-6,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.

We trusted that in the Lord’s time our project would come to fruition, if it was His Will. We pulled our share of the load and edited and polished while we waited. And, yes, there were times when we considered that His answer might be that the success was simply in the writing. Words of encouragement during that journey, however, led us to take the urging of the author, Joanna Weaver to heart, “Never put a period where God puts a comma.” We left the comma in place and continued to do our homework.

Today, words cannot describe how excited we are to announce to all of you, our faithful readers, that we have accepted an offer of representation from Rachelle Gardner of the Books & Such Literary Agency. Thank you all for your prayers and for cheering us on through our author “advent” season. Perhaps, the harder part is yet to come, but we trust you will continue to pray for us and walk with us as we embark on the next ‘chapter’ in our book. Isaiah 40:31 tells us,

… they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

This Advent season is a special one for us. We are full of hope, renewed energy and more ready than ever to prepare our hearts and minds for the miracle of God’s love, and we hope that our joy will inspire each of you – loved family members and dear friends – to join us in this time of inner preparation and in praising our Lord for His goodness.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

With Love & Blessings,

Donna & Will
