A Prayer During the Pandemic
Since the Coronavirus pandemic forced my church to go virtual, the pastor has begun praying the following prayer. Each time I pray it, it really centers me. I remember to focus on what is important, which is why I thought I would share it today. Five months into a pandemic that has changed our lives unlike any other, we have so many sources of stress and reason to be worried. If, like me, you find yourself getting fatigued from it all, I invite you to pray this prayer, and let Jesus come into your heart, mind, and soul. Let him lift your burdens from you and soothe the aches and pains of your heart.
Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds hide me.
Permit me not to be separated from you.
From the wicked foe, defend me.
At the hour of my death, call me
and bid me come to you
That with your saints I may praise you
For ever and ever. Amen.
