While I’ve written often about managing stress, overcoming failure, balancing pressure, and other similar topics, I wanted to use this blog to bring those themes back to the Bible. I certainly employ the outlets and techniques I write about, and find many ways to handle stresses, but sometimes it becomes too much. When meditation, exercising, rationalizing, or other tactics just don’t work, I like to reread my favorite Bible verses to get me through.

I have some taped to my bathroom mirror, printed out on my nightstand, and saved to my notes in my phone. Whether I’m getting ready in the morning, sitting at my desk, or sipping my morning coffee, there’s always a few minutes to read and process a verse. These words have life, and they have the power to lift you up when you need it most. Which are your favorites?

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Luke 12:25-26

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Stand firm, and you will win life. Luke 21:19

Jesus is a faithful presence in our life, let’s make Him the Rock we base our life on.
